Job Title: Assistant Merchant
Contract: 3 weeks; Nov 11 2024 - Nov 30 2024
Pay: $35-$41/hour depending on experience
Location: Hybrid; Reynoldsburg, OH
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Merchant to support our team during the busy holiday season. This individual contributor role will assist with seasonal planning, design, production coordination, and supplier communication. You'll play a key part in ensuring our product assortment is aligned with market trends and company objectives. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and has a passion for retail and product categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Seasonal Planning & Coordination: Assist in preparing seasonal plans, including design and production coordination.
- Order Management: Prepare purchase orders and manage sample status while ensuring quality checks.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial research and analysis to support decision-making.
- Supplier Communication: Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, managing historical data, competitive intelligence, and assortment planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal partners and external brand partners to streamline processes and ensure alignment.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or a related role.
Top Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Solid financial and business acumen.
- Awareness of the competitive landscape with a curiosity for trends.
